The George V reinvents its Parisian rooms and suites

After three years of discreet renovation work, the Four Seasons Hotel George V unveils the complete refurbishment of its 243 rooms and suites. This major project, the largest since the palace reopened in 1999, marks a turning point for the establishment.

Under the direction of interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, who has already been responsible for numerous projects at the George V, the renovation of the hotel’s 243 rooms has also involved exceptional craftsmen who have rethought every detail. The aim is to combine the elegance of large Parisian apartments with hotel comfort that meets the most demanding international standards.

A major architectural transformation

The renovated rooms were designed as true private residences. The spaces have been redesigned to offer bright rooms with comfortable living areas, enlarged workspaces, custom-made bookcases, and intimate dining rooms. The decor combines Louis XVI furniture, 19th-century works of art, and contemporary accents, creating an atmosphere that celebrates French heritage.

Natural light was central to the transformation. New French doors and large windows open the suites onto spectacular panoramic views, including the Eiffel Tower and the rooftops of Paris. The balconies, transformed into hanging gardens, bring a touch of nature and calm to the heart of the capital : the interior architecture is inspired by the Parisian art of living.

And the modernization was not limited to design. State-of-the-art home automation systems, customizable mood lighting, and integrated audiovisual technologies offer optimal comfort.

Thibaut Drege, General Manager of the Four Seasons Hotel George V, said : “This renovation marks a major milestone in the history of the George V. We wanted to redesign our rooms and suites with the same high standards that we apply every day to our guests : to create not just simple accommodations, but true living spaces, bathed in light, designed like Parisian apartments, elegant, functional, and deeply soothing. This project was carried out with care, while keeping the hotel open, as we do with every major transformation. This is one of the great strengths of the George V : knowing how to reinvent itself with discretion and precision, without ever compromising the excellence of service or the unique experience we are committed to offering our guests.”

Three signature suites embodying the palace’s renewal

The renovation culminates in three iconic suites that embody the George V’s new philosophy. The Penthouse Suite, perched on the top floor, has been completely redesigned to highlight the light and views. The large bay windows open onto a breathtaking view of Paris, with the Eiffel Tower standing majestically, transforming the panorama into a living work of art.

The Eiffel Parisienne Suite, the hotel’s new signature suite, stands out for its family-friendly layout, which is rare in Paris. Designed for extended stays and comprising a master suite and two connecting bedrooms, it opens onto two landscaped terraces and is bathed in natural light.

Finally, the Parisienne Suite opts for a more discreet but equally refined aesthetic. Its unique feature is its bathroom, entirely clad in white Carrara marble, adorned with Baccarat crystal faucets and Lalique wall lights. There is also a semi-open dressing room, protected by a gradient glass wall that filters light while preserving privacy.

Sarmad Zok, CEO of Kingdom Hotel Investments, who also oversaw this operation, commented on these recent changes : « For more than two decades, we have been continuously investing in our iconic hotel assets with the ambition of positioning them at the top of the international market for the long term. The Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris fully embodies this vision : to offer our guests the most luxurious hotel experience in the world. In just a decade, we have created two Michelin-starred restaurants and an exceptional spa, renovated our reception rooms and all our keys, and transformed the building, which is now internationally certified for its very high level of environmental performance. These investments reflect our commitment to maintaining this flagship of the global hotel industry at the highest level of excellence and to developing it further, while respecting the spirit and identity of this unique Parisian address. »
