The Silmo d’Or remains the most coveted international prize for optics professionals. For its 30th edition, EssilorLuxottica once again took the title in the Vision category. Other names were revealed, including Mykita, which officially became the first winner of the Responsible Company Award.
Every year at the same time, optical professionals gather at the Paris Nord Villepinte site for Europe’s second-largest optical trade show: Silmo Paris.
Once again this year, from September 29 to October 2, the event lived up to its reputation, with 35,000 visitors discovering optical trends and doing business with 929 exhibitors from 42 countries.
A real highlight of the show, the Silmo d’Or ceremony rewards the creativity and innovation of the entire industry. This legendary award is a guarantee of visibility and notoriety unrivalled in the sector.
A 2023 edition under the banner of CSR
For its 30th edition, held on Saturday October 1, the jury, chaired this year by fashion designer Nicolas Fafiotte, selected the lucky winners from among 42 contenders.
Giant EssilorLuxottica once again won the Vision prize with its innovative Varilux XR Series progressive lens. This cutting-edge innovation further strengthens Varilux’s position as the world’s leading progressive lens brand… For the first time, this latest generation of progressive lenses goes beyond prescription by adapting to the wearer’s visual behavior predicted by artificial intelligence (AI) using exclusive real-life data.
Another winner was Morrow Eyewear with Morrow eProgressives.
New this year, the Show created the Responsible Company Award, which was presented to a respected figure in the industry and an expert in titanium frames: the German company Mykita.
