Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, an international luxury hotel group, has announced that it will open a new hotel in the Saudi capital Riyadh by 2025. The upcoming opening is part of the hotel group’s global growth strategy.

The Rosewood Riyadh will be located near the UNESCO World Heritage Site of At-Turaif at Diriyah Gate, a progressive mixed-use development project that aims to become the country’s leading cultural destination.

The location of this hotel was not chosen at random: it is intended to offer new opportunities for business and leisure travelers to travel to one of the most important cities in the Middle East.

Rosewood will bring a level of sophistication to Diriyah, reflecting the past while offering guests the excitement of the future, just as Diriyah will lead travelers from the historic Saudi past to the present. The exclusive nature of the Rosewood experience will bring excitement to Diriyah through the development of its renowned wellness offerings, renowned Explorers Club and dining talents. Guests will be taken on a cultural journey through the centuries through the joint efforts of Diriyah and the Rosewood team, and we look forward to unveiling more in the coming months,” said Jerry Inzerillo, CEO of the DGDA Group.

The upcoming opening coincides with Rosewood Hotels & Resorts’ global expansion strategy. Indeed, Rosewood Riyadh marks the group’s eighth opening during 2021. The group already has one hotel in Saudi Arabia, the Rosewood Jeddah. Rosewood Riyadh will also join Rosewood Abu Dhabi and Rosewood Doha, which remain scheduled to open during 2022.

We are delighted to strengthen our presence in the Middle East with an opening in Riyadh, a historic hub of commerce and an example of 21st century vision, which is now a major destination for international business and cultural exploration,” said Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer of Rosewood Hotel Group.

The Diriyah Gate development brings the destination to a wider international audience of discerning travelers and we are delighted to be part of the city’s continued evolution and commitment to redeveloping heritage areas for future generations,” added Cheng.

The hotel will have 250 ultra-luxury rooms including 202 rooms, suites and 48 three-bedroom suites. There will be four restaurants and bars within the hotel, but also a state-of-the-art fitness center and dedicated spaces for business meetings and events, including a ballroom. There will also be a children’s club for guests, called the Rosewood Explorers.

Hotel guests will have privileged access to the city’s many cultural venues and activities, thanks to Rosewood Riyadh’s advantageous location within the project.

Other projects are also underway in line with the group’s goals to expand further worldwide. Some of the upcoming target cities for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts are Rome, Miyakojima, Hangzhou, Chongqing, Mexico City and San Francisco.
