Rémy Cointreau invests in the digitization of its liquor sales

Rémy Cointreau, the French spirits group, is embarking on the digital transformation of its product sales, with the aim of becoming the world leader in Liqueurs and Spirits.

 

With the explosion of e-commerce sales in 2020, we needed to accelerate our digital transformation,” says Pasqual Ortuño Nuñez, Group IT Digital Manager at Rémy Cointreau.

 

Indeed, the 2020 lockdown has enabled Cointreau’s US-based logistics teams to realise the significant need for a Product Information Management (PIM) solution.

 

The group has therefore chosen to invest in e-commerce and the development of direct sales to consumers via marketplaces. These ambitions have highlighted the need for better control of product information management so that this data reflects the premium identity of each Cointreau Group brand. This need has also been reflected in the indirect sales channels.

 

The group therefore hopes that within 10 years, these sales will represent 20% of their turnover.

 

Optimising the product experience

 

The IT department dedicated to the Sales & Marketing teams was responsible for meeting Cointreau’s product information management optimisation needs. It then began a process of selecting PIM solutions and consolidating the various requirements in collaboration with the IT, technical and logistics teams. The solution had to meet specific operational requirements such as centralisation and quality control of product information, task automation and seamless integration with the digital solutions ecosystem.

 

Cointreau therefore turned to Akeneo, the world leader in Product Experience Management (PXM) and Product Information Management (PIM) solutions. The latter enables brands and retailers to offer their customers a pleasant commercial experience on all the necessary sales channels, from e-commerce to mobile applications, including print and point of sale.
