The July 2022 edition of the fashion trade show, Première Vision Paris, was a great success with visitors and reveals encouraging figures for future editions.

Although this was the first time that the Parisian textile-clothing event dedicated to the autumn-winter collections was not held in September, this did not prevent Première Vision from attracting many visitors.

Despite numerous disruptions due to transport strikes during the three days of the show and health and travel restrictions imposed in Asia, Première Vision Paris still managed to attract a large number of visitors.

The physical edition, held from July 5 to 7, attracted 23,377 visitors, an increase of 37% compared to September 2021 and 10% compared to February 2022. The latter were 69% international. However, these figures are still lower than the 2019 edition, which had 2000 exhibitors and attracted 56,154 visitors.

118 countries represented the 1,200 exhibitors present, the majority of which were European. Italy and France dominated the ranking, followed by the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Turkey, the United States, Japan, South Korea or India.

The creativity of our offer, the dynamics of our visitors, the return of distant markets, the challenge of eco-responsibility, and the success of our new services are all strong and encouraging signs that we can sustain our business despite the current context”, says Gilles Lasbordes, the event’s general manager.

What is the outlook for future Première Vision shows?

At the beginning of the year, Première Vision announced a complete reorganization of its schedule. In order to keep up with the pace of the collections and respond to market demand, it has changed the periods in which its two annual events are held.

It was through a survey deployed in the first quarter of 2020 in France, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Spain among 1,765 professionals by the Institut Français de la Mode – at the request of Première Vision – that the latter decided́ to bring forward its traditional dates. 72% of the brands surveyed suggested a show brought forward to the end of January/beginning of February, and 69% an event organized in early July

Première Vision Paris therefore followed these recommendations and took several steps. Originally held in mid-February, the edition dedicated to the spring-summer collections will now be held in early February. If this is not a major change, the edition for the fall-winter collections has been completely revised. The latter now welcomes its visitors and exhibitors during the first two weeks of July, as opposed to September previously.

The July 2022 edition inaugurated this new program. In view of the success of the event with visitors and the attendance it has received, these results are therefore encouraging and confirm the right choice of Première Vision Paris to move its annual events.

The year 2022 is far from over for Première Vision, as the show will hold its New York edition on 19 and 20 July, followed by Première Vision Sport in Portland on 10 and 11 August. In the French capital, the new trade show Fashion Rendez-vous will take place on September 7 and 8, while Première Vision Blossom, dedicated to pre-collections for luxury brands, will return on December 14 and 15, 2022. Meanwhile, Première Vision Shenzhen will be held from 17 to 19 October 2022.
