Prada launches an NFT collection as part of its Time Capsule project

After a first try with Adidas at the beginning of the year, the Italian fashion house continues its expansion in the web3 with a new series of NFT in collaboration with the artist Cassius Hirst.

 

Prada continues its foray into the world of web3, understand, the world of the web ranging from blockchain to crypto-currencies to NFTs and the metaverse. Its new series of NFTs will be released as part of the Timecapsule project, which is a limited edition ready-to-wear collection launching in 2019. Customers are invited to pick up exclusive pieces on the brand’s e-shop on the first Thursday of every month, available only 24 hours.

This process, which focuses on exclusivity and rarity, is linked to the NFT or non-fungible tokens. On June 2, each buyer of a physical object will be offered an NFT representing the digital version of the physical object. In conjunction with this event, Prada has launched “Prada Crypted,” an NFTs platform accessible on Prada.com and a community server on Discord.

The server is a place to exchange ideas and inspire each other while connecting the world of fashion with the worlds of art, architecture, film, music, the Web3 and more,” the brand says on its website.

 

As part of this upcoming launch, Prada is launching an event in collaboration with artist Cassius Hirst (Damien Hirst’s son): a collection of limited edition shirts will be created and these will be accompanied by an NFT. In total, there will be 100 NFTs created on the Ethereum blockchain, the aim of which is to bring an additional exclusive touch to each buyer.

 

Earlier this month, Prada unveiled the Cass x Prada collection, for which Cassius Hirst reinterpreted Prada’s America’s Cup sneakers. The rest of this collaboration will delight fans of NFT and the metaverse, as well as exclusive experiences.
