Despite the cancellation of the physical edition of Première Vision Leather, the 2nd edition of the Sustainable Leather Forum organized by the CNC (French Leather Council) will be held on September 14, 2020 at the CESE in Paris under the high patronage of the French Ministry of Economy and Finance.

It is an unmissable networking event with all leather professionals in France, which will be held on September 14th and concerns all actors in the French and international fashion, leather, footwear, leather goods and luxury goods industries.

Meeting place for leather professionals

150 to 250 participants will attend this second edition.

Also present will be hide producers, tanners, shoe and leather goods manufacturers, distributors of finished products, entrepreneurs, designers, institutions, brands, but also public and institutional organisations and opinion leaders.

The aim of the forum is to reflect on the good practices of the leather industry sector in terms of Corporate Social Responsibility as well as its social, economic and environmental aspects.

The program has been designed to show how the players in the profession have implemented their CSR strategy.

It is structured around 4 sessions organized around round tables and presentations by major national and international names in the luxury and fashion industry such as Kering, Vestiaire Collective, LVMH, Hermès, Groupe Eram, etc., as well as the guarantors of the leather industry’s best practices in terms of CSR: Vetagro, Afnor, Mazars, etc.

The first session will see Régis Léty (Centre Technique du Cuir), Chritel Schlinger-Musset (Agence Echa), Siham Belhadj (Mazars) and Sylvain Guyoton (Ecovadis) discuss the social and environmental responsibility of the sector.

Next, innovation and good practices in the world of raw hides and tanneries will be discussed by Luc Mounier (VetAgro Sup), Christophe Dehard (Syndicat général des cuirs et peaux), Philippe Alfonsi (Saturne), Gustavo Gonzalez Quijano (Cotance) and Wolfram Scholz (International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies).

After this general, global session, SLF has chosen to dedicate the first afternoon session to the footwear and leather goods sectors with a round table bringing together Anne Benady (Afnor), Thierry Oriez (J.M. Weston), Jean-Olivier Michaux (Eram Group), Clara Chappaz (Vestiaire Collective) and Alexandre Rousseau (Bleu de Chauffe). In a very didactic and concrete way, the questions of manufacturing, but also of subcontracting, sourcing and distribution will be addressed, as well as all the issues related to these problems.

Finally, the last session will focus on know-how, training, territories and attractiveness. It will be the subject of an exchange between Laurent Duray (Lim Group), Thierry Voisin (Leather Technical Center), Florence Rambaud (LVMH), Andrée-Anne Lemieux (IFM-Kering Sustainability Chair) and Solène Dailloux (Student Manifesto for an Ecological Awakening).

In total, more than 30 speakers were selected. The objective is to cover all aspects of CSR and all professions in the profession.

Also noteworthy was the announcement of keynotes hosted by representatives of Kering, LVMH and Hermès.

The forum will be held at the Economic, Social and Environmental Council in the heart of Paris, at Place d’Iéna in the 16th arrondissement.

Visitors will be able to access it from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
