Nicolas Ghesquière reappointed as Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton Women

Louis Vuitton announced yesterday that Nicolas Ghesquière would remain at the helm of the House’s women’s department. Although the French designer has held this position for ten years, the duration of his new contract was not revealed.

In an industry where designer longevity is rare, Nicolas Ghesquière is a UFO. Through an official statement, Louis Vuitton has revealed that he is retaining his position as artistic director of women’s collections, a position he has already held since 2013.

It’s a real honor to continue writing the Louis Vuitton story,” says Nicolas Ghesquière. We began the first chapter ten years ago, defining a new identity based on an extraordinary heritage and a constant focus on innovation. In particular, I had the privilege of harnessing the talent and expertise of the house and its teams to develop new codes,” he continues, before thanking Bernard Arnault and Pietro Beccari for their trust and support.
