As in every runway season, New York City is the premier setting for Fashion Month events. While the fashion sphere hastened to London to discover the rest of the autumn-winter 2024-2025 collections, let’s take a look back at this week’s key shows in the Big Apple.
Tommy Hilfiger kicks things off
Since September 2022, Tommy Hilfiger has been absent from the Big Apple. For his comeback, this figurehead of “Classic American Cool” style took over one of the city’s most iconic locations: Grand Central Terminal. Guests were seated in the Oyster Bar, a restaurant nestled in the station’s basement. In front of them, the timeless pieces that have made Tommy Hilfiger such a success were paraded to a soundtrack by drummer, producer and DJ Questlove. Ivy League-inspired preppy style meets New York streetwear. The collection reappropriates classic wool sweaters, blazers and pleated skirts, with an emphasis on volume. The cap, symbol of the casual look, completes these silhouettes designed for the cool kids who stroll the trendy neighborhoods.
