Connected watch lovers have something to look forward to, on July 15, the new Summit 3 by Montblanc will be available.
Montblanc continues to innovate with its Summit connected watch models by unveiling the new Summit 3, powered by Wear OS 3. This luxury smartwatch “is powered by the latest version of Google’s Wear OS,” making it only the second watch in the world to use the software, after the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4.
Despite the smaller case size, the Summit 3 features a 1.3-inch AMOLED display protected by a sapphire crystal just like its predecessor, the Summit 2 Plus, which launched two years ago now. The smartwatch now features a titanium case combined with a black stainless steel bezel, making it waterproof to 50 meters. As on the Summit 2, there is a rotating digital crown integrated into the central button.
Montblanc is leaving out GPS and LTE connectivity on its Summit 3 smartwatch, but it does have a number of sensors such as heart rate, barometer and gyroscope. In addition, NFC payment is still supported, and the watch benefits from Bluetooth 5.0 and WiFi.
“Equipped with Google’s Wear OS, the Montblanc Summit 3 can be enhanced by adding all the necessary applications to meet the needs of its owner. Whether at work, play, on the road, or at home, the new watch aims to provide a tailored experience that enhances life and makes the most of the day. You can navigate the world with turn-by-turn navigation on your wrist with Google Maps, or use Google Pay as a quick and easy way to pay in stores on the go.” explains the brand’s release.
On the software front, the Summit 3 is the first non-Samsung smartwatch running Wear OS 3.0, which was jointly developed by Google and Samsung. The Montblanc Summit 3 will be available on July 15 for €1250 in Europe and in two options: silver or black titanium.
