Mercedes-Benz reports lower sales in 2024, despite a more favorable fourth quarter

In 2024, Mercedes-Benz saw its worldwide sales fall by 3%, mainly due to weak performance in China. However, the brand bounced back in the fourth quarter thanks to its top-of-the-range models.

 

2024 was a complicated year for the automotive industry, marked by a weakening economy and falling demand in China.

 

Mercedes-Benz was no exception, with worldwide sales down 3% and 1,983,400 cars over the year : the car brand faced a 3% drop in sales in Europe, including -9% in Germany, and 7% in China, with 683,600 vehicles sold. However, the brand performed well in North America, with an increase of 8% and 365,400 sales.
