Maison Christian Lacroix acquired by Spanish company STL

Maison Christian Lacroix, co-founded in 1987 by the eponymous designer and the LVMH group before being sold to its American licensee Falic, is once again changing hands. The Spanish company STL, licensee of CH Carolina Herrera, has bought out the entire capital, with the blessing of Christian Lacroix himself.

 

This time, it’s the right one.

 

Already reported in the past as being on the verge of being sold, Maison Christian Lacroix is now in the hands of the Spanish company Sociedad Textil Lonia (STL). In a press release, STL announced that it had taken over 100% of the Maison’s shares from its current owner, the Falic group, in a “private transaction”.

 

Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

 

A revival?

 

With little to show for its efforts since being acquired from LVMH by its former licensee, the American Falic, which also owns the American retail group Duty Free Americas, will the Maison de Couture flourish under a Spanish owner?
