Kimpton St Honoré Paris will bring its original sense of hospitality to the heart of the Opera district in the spring of 2021.

The opening of the first Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in France next spring is a further step in the European expansion of the boutique hotel brand of the IHG Hotels & Resorts Group. With its playful and elegant design, its innovative approach to restaurants and bars and its immersive experiences that promote “real connections” as the brand claims, the Kimpton St Honoré Paris will breathe new life into the capital’s hotel offer.

Ideally located in the Opéra district, a stone’s throw from Place Vendôme, the Tuileries Gardens and the Louvre, it is under the 1917 Art Nouveau facades of the former “Samaritaine de Luxe” that the Kimpton St Honoré Paris will open its doors, also retaining some period features of the department stores’ such as its iconic grand staircase. The transformation of this jewel of the 1900s into a 5-star hotel with 149 rooms and suites with spa, gym and indoor swimming pool is under the artistic direction of the famous French interior designer Charles Zana. The interiors will be inspired by the Art Deco of the 1930s and each room will have the look of a chic and modern Parisian flat, with balconies, studio windows and carefully selected works of art.

The culinary experiences and cocktail bar at Kimpton St Honoré Paris will undoubtedly make it a must on the Parisian scene. The Kimpton spirit clearly displays its ambition to “deliver a sincere experience and (…) encourage interaction thanks, for example, to its “social hour” creating authentic links with the guests”.

On the ground floor of the future establishment, a Californian-inspired restaurant designed by Humbert & Poyet will combine healthy, iodized recipes with abundant American generosity. On the 10th floor, guests will discover a roof-top bar where they can enjoy original cocktails and appetizers in a friendly atmosphere while enjoying an exceptional 360-degree view of the City of Light and its monuments.

With over 25 years of experience in the luxury hotel industry, Jean-Paul Dantil has been appointed Managing Director of Kimpton St Honoré Paris. “France is renowned for its hotels and Paris for its art, design and rich culture. We are very excited to bring the Kimpton philosophy of relaxed, sophisticated and personalised service to this sublime establishment. The opening of Kimpton St Honoré Paris will bring joie de vivre and dynamism, bringing modernity to this wonderful listed building and welcoming travellers in a luxurious and relaxed style”, says Jean-Paul Dantil.

Founded in 1981 in San Francisco by Bill Kimpton, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants’ sincere approach to hospitality has resulted in the creation of unique, designer hotels in city centres, resorts and ski resorts around the world. Recent openings include the Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo, Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester, UK, and Kimpton Vividora Hotel in Barcelona. The brand is also expected to make its debut in Bali in 2021, with further projects planned in Germany, Mexico, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong and the Netherlands over the next 2 to 5 years.
