Already a partner of the Italian fashion empire through its first two hotels in Dubai and Milan under the Armani Hotels & Resorts brand, Mohamed Alabbar’s private investment company will benefit from global exclusivity to co-develop key destinations around the world with Armani.
Even without its creator, the Armani empire continues to expand its territory.
The group has just announced “a new global partnership,” namely a joint venture “with Symphony Global, Mohamed Alabbar’s private investment company, to develop future Armani hotels and resorts,” it explained in a press release, before emphasizing that “building on the success of the Armani Hotel Dubai and the Armani Hotel Milano, this partnership is entering a new phase with global exclusivity, marking one of the most ambitious collaborations in recent years in the field of design-focused hospitality.”
Dubai real estate giant
In fact, Giorgio Armani had already begun diversifying into luxury hotels two decades ago, relying on Emaar Properties, a Dubai real estate giant also founded by Mohamed Alabbar. A long-term licensing agreement was signed in 2005 to develop a global collection of luxury hotels and resorts under the Armani Hotels & Resorts brand.
