Luxury hotel group Mandarin Oriental opens its first-ever luxury resort in Greece

Mandarin Oriental’s first-ever luxury resort in Greece opened this summer at Costa Navarino in the Peloponnese.

Every year, thousands of tourists flock to the Greek coast to bask on the magnificent beaches, soak up the sun and discover the country’s rich cultural heritage. And good news for them, the Mandarin Oriental hotel group opened its very first luxury resort in Greece at Costa Navarino at the beginning of August.

Costa Navarino is renowned as one of Greece’s most popular destinations for luxury travellers. Located in Messinia, in the south-western Peloponnese, it is famous for its unrivalled beaches of golden sand and crystal-clear waters.

For this project, the hotel group has teamed up with TEMES, the developer and operator behind Costa Navarino. Commenting on this new collaboration, company president Achilles V. Constantakopoulos, said, “We are proud to see Mandarin Oriental bringing its hospitality expertise to Greece for the first time, marking further growth for Costa Navarino, which has become a leading international destination to visit and experience.”

The new beachfront resort will feature 99 elegant guest rooms, including 48 pool villas, each with a spacious outdoor terrace facing a two-kilometer stretch of pristine coastline, offering breathtaking views of the Ionian Sea.

Those who have stayed at one of Mandarin Oriental’s 35 hotels around the world, from Tokyo to Milan, will know what to expect. The hotel group’s latest outpost in Greece will feature the brand’s signature interiors, skilfully blending Asian-inspired decor with contemporary design.

Ecological project

Renowned Greek architects Tombazis & Associates Architects and K-Studio have gone to great lengths to reduce the property’s impact on the environment. The Mandarin Oriental complex in Greece has been built using sustainable materials, and its design blends seamlessly with its natural surroundings, particularly its roofs, which will be covered in vegetation.
