The Emirati luxury hotel and restaurant group has appointed Thomas B. Meier, an industry expert with a good knowledge of Asia and of Jumeirah, which he joined in 2021, as its new CEO. He will be responsible for implementing the ambitious “Mission 2030” expansion plan, which aims to make Jumeirah one of the top five hospitality brands in the world.
Thomas B. Meier, Jumeirah’s newly appointed CEO, is no stranger to the Emirati luxury hotel and restaurant group, a subsidiary of Dubai Holding, owned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum .
Prior to his recent appointment as head of Jumeirah, he had already been acting CEO since last year. Prior to that, he had been in charge of Jumeirah’s operations until 2021.
He made a major contribution to the group’s international expansion, overseeing its introduction into Africa with the launch of Jumeirah Thanda Island in Tanzania and Jumeirah Thanda Safari in South Africa. He also managed the renovation of several other brands in the Jumeirah portfolio.
A rich career in Hospitality
Before joining the Emirati group, Thomas B. Meier had already proven his worth with other big names in the Hospitality sector.
