In 2024, Marriott International reached a new milestone in its global expansion strategy, particularly in the dynamic Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region. The hotel chain achieved an impressive record with the signing of 67 agreements representing around 8,000 additional rooms, consolidating its leading position in these fast-growing markets.
The past year was marked by strategic openings and the addition of new properties to its portfolio, including the celebration of the opening of its 500th hotel in this region. As Marriott continues to invest in diversifying its offering, particularly in the luxury, all-inclusive and limited-service segments, the chain looks set to maintain its continued growth in the years ahead.
An exceptional year for Marriott in CALA
All the lights remained green in 2024 for Marriott, which enjoyed a record-breaking year : firstly, 30 new properties were added to its portfolio in the CALA region, bringing its total to 528 hotels in 37 countries and territories by the end of the year. The chain’s success was driven by a strategy based on a broad range of brands and strong demand from owners and developers. This growth has been fueled by a diversified portfolio and a loyalty program, Marriott Bonvoy, which continues to attract guests from around the world. By the end of 2024, Marriott had 183 properties under development, representing 27,817 rooms, demonstrating the chain’s continued ambition to strengthen in all segments of the hotel market.
