Founded in 2009, Faubourg Saint Sulpice has made a name for itself on the Parisian and French made-to-measure suit scene. In the space of fifteen years, the majority of men have dropped the tie and the Richelieu shoe from their daily lives, but the suit has not said its last word, whether it’s to mark the occasion or to make everyday life exceptional.
A name that smacks of Paris, with its neighborhoods, its ardor, its impertinence, its gouaille and, above all, its inimitable elegance. The Faubourg Saint Sulpice brand succeeds in being both accessible in its offering and uncompromising in the style and quality of its fabrics, all with an unconventional approach to suiting.
In fifteen years, the historic boutique has evolved into a click & mortar brand, with an e-commerce site complemented by a network of showrooms beyond its Parisian origins.
This year, Faubourg Saint Sulpice has chosen the sunny shores of Spain as the primary inspiration for its collections of bespoke wedding and business suits for men.
A Savile Row 2.0 spirit
Back in 2009, Faubourg Saint Sulpice’s artisan-creators, Géraud Lamazère and Louis Kloeckner, set themselves the mission of revolutionizing the codes of Savile Row, the beating heart of London’s tailoring art, in terms of fabric selection, patented measuring and pattern-making, the hushed setting of the showcase and modernized cuts.
At the time, sneakers were making their timid entry onto the fashion scene, and ties and suits still reigned supreme in most companies. Even so, the classic jacket-trouser duo was undergoing a providential modernization. In this way, Faubourg Saint Sulpice contributed, like other emerging players on the fashion scene, to the spread of masculine elegance and the dandy movement of the first half of the 2010s.
Since its creation, Maison Faubourg Saint Sulpice has made a name for itself as a pioneer in the democratization of made-to-measure suits for men. A Maison with an unstoppable style, not devoid of impertinence. The House’s signatures were thus all in place.
All that remained was to define an affordable price range: 690 euros for a jacket from the new collection, 950 euros for a business suit and between 950 and 1390 euros for a wedding suit. Shirts and shoes (on offer for 150 and 390 euros) complete the range, for a complete outfit that will stand the test of time. Prices depend on the choice of fabric and the degree of complexity required in the personalization phase.
And exclusivity of service is also assured:access to the various showrooms in Paris, Bordeaux and Clermont-Ferrand is by appointment only. Particular care is taken to accompany customers, and every aspect of their uniqueness (personality, morphology, tastes, usage…) is taken into account to create the perfect made-to-measure suit.
Viva Espana!
In 2024, Faubourg Saint Sulpice is playing the Spanish card with the vibrant Catalan city of Barcelona for its business collection and the volcanic island of Lanzarote for its wedding collection. Each of the made-to-measure suitcollections offers some fifteen models.
For its business collection, Faubourg Saint Sulpice offers a wide range of fabrics with no micro-patterns (Prince of Wales, mini stripes, windowpane checks, micro polka dots, caviar…). The 100% wool fabric is available in a variety of textures, from felted to matted to lightly woven. When it comes to colors, blue and gray are king, whether navy, mottled, dark or anthracite.
For very special occasions, such as weddings, the range of made-to-measure suits is available in 100% cotton, wool blend or 100% linen, for the perfect feeling of freshness in sunny latitudes. The expected proposal of the two-piece suit is somewhat awakened by double-breasted and three-piece suits. The color palette plays more with pastel tones and elementals such as blue (sky, cobalt or speckled) and mottled beige. True to its reputation, Faubourg Saint Sulpice has not forgotten a few off-the-beaten-track hues, such as green (deep, plain khaki) and coral, more unusual than terra cota.
Faubourg Saint Sulpice has renewed men’s interest in classic elegance with a touch of impertinence. Faubourg Saint Sulpice is also in line with the trend for new brands to produce on demand, eliminating the need to hold stocks of finished products. A perfect response to growing customer demand for sustainable development!
