The pioneering American online luxury goods retailer has just been awarded the demanding American B Corp certification, in recognition of its joint efforts in terms of social and environmental impact.
FASHIONPHILE likes to be on the cutting edge.
American company FASHIONPHILE, which bills itself as “the leading e-commerce platform for the resale of second-hand and luxury accessories”, has just announced its admission to the “club” of certified B Corp companies.
“This certification reflects the company’s ongoing efforts in the areas of social and environmental sustainability, transparency and ethical business practices” stresses the company.
Pioneer
FASHIONPHILE was already a pioneer when it was founded in San Diego in 1999, adopting a circular economy model: the resale of second-hand luxury goods on the Internet. The company has a “long-standing commitment to extending the life cycle of the products it sells, making this more sustainable way of shopping more accessible, reducing waste and promoting sustainability in the luxury fashion industry”, says Sarah Davis, founder and president of FASHIONPHILE .
Since then, many other platforms, such as compatriots Couture USA (founded in 2004) and Rebag (2014), or the French Vestiaire Collective (2009), Collector Square and Monogram (both launched in 2015), have followed suit.
But FASHIONPHILE claims to have become “the country’s largest resale platform for buying and selling pre-owned luxury accessories, including Chanel, Hermès, Gucci and Louis Vuitton”.
Exclusive partner of Neiman Marcus
Claiming excellence “in digital and omnichannel experiences as well as in-person luxury services”, an “inexhaustible stock of the most coveted handbags and accessories”, “a direct purchase model” and “first-class authentication”, FASHIONPHILE has notably become Neiman Marcus’ exclusive e-commerce partner in 2019. Some ten FASHIONPHILE Selling Studios have already opened in Neiman Marcus stores.
And today, FASHIONPHILE is stepping up a gear in terms of exemplarity.
