Fashion Awards 2022: Pierpaolo Piccioli named designer of the year

Valentino’s creative director won the Designer of the Year award at the Fashion Awards 2022 ceremony in London.
The Fashion Awards 2022 took place last night at the Royal Albert Hall in London. It is one of the most anticipated events in the fashion calendar, providing a global platform for brands, creatives, designers and artists.
The most coveted award, Designer of the Year, was presented to Pierpaolo Piccioli, the artistic director of Valentino. Actress Florence Pugh, who regularly wears the Italian brand for red carpet events, presented him with the award.

The win is the second for the designer, who previously won in 2018. “If I read this speech tonight, it means that dreams can take you to places you never expected to be”, he said at the time.
In 2021, at Valentino, sales were up 41%. And Pierpaolo Piccioli is largely responsible for this. At the heart of his work: the gen Z target and collaborations, such as the latest one with Pantone.
