After a decade under Jeremy Scott, styling at Moschino, the House of the Italian Aeffe group, has been entrusted to Davide Renne. Unknown to the general public, he spent 20 years at Gucci…
Davide Renne arrives at Moschino.
Eight months after the departure of American Jeremy Scott, the man behind the transalpine brand’s collections for a decade, the position is once again filled. An experienced Italian designer, Davide Renne, becomes the new creator of the women’s, men’s and accessories collections for the main line, starting November 1.
His very first show at the helm of the Maison will take place in February 2024, during Milan Fashion Week.
The news was announced by Italian group Aeffe SpA, which had finalized the takeover of Moschino in 2021, acquiring the remaining 30% stake. Aeffe also owns the Alberta Ferretti, Pollini and Philosophy brands.
Deep understanding
“We are convinced” that Davide Renne “will play an essential role in building the future of Moschino, a global house with an Italian heart and a truly unique DNA in the luxury industry”, announced Massimo Ferretti, Executive Chairman of Aeffe SpA, on social networks. He also said that he and his team were “impressed by Davide’s extremely sophisticated vision of the power of fashion to create a living dialogue with the world around us, and by his deep understanding of the House of Moschino’s heritage and our codes. ”
Should we see this as a new illustration of the jurisprudence “the revenge of the men (and women) in the shadows on the stars?”
