Dorchester Collection has unveiled plans for its first hotel in Asia, which will be located in Japan’s tallest tower in Tokyo: the Torch Tower. With its modernity, elegance, design and luxury, it should appeal to Japanese and foreigners alike.
The Dorchester Collection includes nine hotels around the world. From Paris to Los Angeles, London to Milan, the group is expanding to the four corners of the world, showing its taste for authenticity and luxury, while respecting the culture and heritage of each city.
However, we will have to wait until 2028 to admire its future architectural jewel in Tokyo, currently under development by Mitsubishi Estate Co. and Tokyo Century Corporation.
Located on the upper floors of the Torch Tower, the hotel will offer a panoramic view of the Japanese capital as well as Mount Fuji. This panorama, dubbed The Sky Hill, will become the symbol of the hotel. Nature can be admired and enjoyed in great detail through the building’s large windows.
The Dorchester Collection has etched its name into the history and culture of many regions. With this ambitious new project, the goal will be to create a true luxury zone in Japan.
“This new hotel will become a beacon for Japan’s ultra-luxury hotel landscape and set new benchmarks. Tokyo has long been an integral part of our growth strategy given its global importance and as a gateway to Asia. Partnering with the highly regarded Mitsubishi Estate Co. Ltd. and Tokyo Century Corporation is a real honor,” said Christopher Cowdray, group managing director.
For its part, real estate developer Mitsubishi Estate Co. added, “We are delighted to welcome the historic and traditional Dorchester Collection as a partner. We are confident that by infusing the culture and hospitality it has cultivated over the years, the hotel will offer a unique experience.”
Dorchester Collection is on all fronts. In addition to developing a new hotel in Japan, it will open its first Middle East property next year, called The Lana, Dubai.
