Disney World gets a new luxury resort

Walt Disney World, located in Florida, is set to add a new luxury resort in an effort to offer guests more accommodation options as the tourism industry rebounds.

The coronavirus pandemic has had a lasting impact on hotels in Florida. While some have experienced difficulties and had to close their doors, others have thrived and new resorts are planned in the future.

Such is the case with Disney World, which plans to develop a new luxury resort near its park in central Florida to provide guests with more lodging options during their vacation. According to a report from the Orlando Business Journal, this brand new hotel will be built right across the street from the Bonnet Creek Resort area, and will have as many as 526 rooms, seven floors, a conference center, parking, and a dozen villas. Plans for the project have already been filed by Darton US Holdings Inc with the relevant authorities. The complex will also have restaurants and swimming pools.

The construction of this resort comes in the context of the post-Covid recovery. With vacationers returning and Florida‘s tourism industry on the upswing, it is not surprising that more hotels are indeed on the agenda.

In addition, despite the impact of the pandemic on travel and tourism, hotel rooms at Walt Disney World have often been fully occupied. The construction of the new resort will therefore accommodate an increased flow of visitors and provide them with a more diversified accommodation offer, in addition to the one the park already offers.
