The investment fund Cuir Invest, led by the Conseil National du Cuir, unveils its investment in the brands La Maison Demeure and M. Moustache.
Created in 2019, Cuir Invest aims to support young companies in their creation, entrepreneurship and development projects. Financed by SIC SA (a subsidiary of the CNC), the investment fund has already supported several companies with high potential. This time, it has placed its trust in La Maison Demeure and M. Moustache, which are committed and responsible.
“We would like to bring to the companies of our sector a benevolent investment fund, which privileges the accompaniment in the development rather than the valorization of the capital, while bringing them a serenity” reminds Franck Boehly, the president of SIC SA and the CNC.
Cuir Invest initially had five million euros at its disposal. Since this year, it has a capital of 13 million euros. Cuir Invest aims to support these young companies over the long term, by providing them with equity capital: “We realized that a number of companies needed something other than loans, but rather equity capital. At the beginning, we didn’t have the tool, so we created it,” Frank Boehly emphasizes. The leather industry, which enjoys an international reputation, also opens its address book to young brands.
La Maison Demeure, between creation and innovation
Launched in 2013 by Charlotte Cazal, La maison Demeure is a specialist in leather finishing. Originally, the guiding principle of the House was to upcycle old materials like linen and ennoble them with dyes and designs. In 2017, the company participated in the Première Vision show and was spotted by Maison Margiela. That’s when she became interested in the leather market: “I fell in love with leather. I felt it was the perfect material for my personality,” says Charlotte.

The company had recourse to an initial fundraising in 2017 and is now partnering with a pool of investors alongside Cuir Invest such as Auguste Thomas leather goods, IRD or even NFA and Objectifs 55n.
The president of the CNC sees this as a diversification opportunity for Cuir Invest: “We have complete confidence in Charlotte Cazal and her interesting development project. There are very few leather finishers, and we did not have any in our portfolio.”
M. Moustache: sustainable, responsible and trendy footwear
Founded in 2012 by Antoine Vigneron, Guillaume Alcan and Thibault Repelin, M.Moustache is a pioneering digital native brand. The company aims to be environmentally friendly, innovative and trendy: “it’s a brand that wants to make the planet smile by providing cool shoes” explains one of the founders.
In terms of eco-responsibility, Mr. Moustache is king. Upcycling or CSR programs, the brand is positioned on environmental issues, but also social. The company measures the carbon footprint of some of its products and offsets CO2 emissions with actions such as financing a farm in Moselle or using solar panels in a Portuguese factory.
For Frank Boehly, who knows this company very well, Mr. Moustache is a brand with a future: “This company is developing remarkably well. It offers very interesting products and remains very committed to the environment. One of their plans is to reduce their CO2 emissions by 50 percent by 2025.”
For M. Moustache, this fundraising will allow him to accelerate his growth on three main pillars: the expansion of the points of sale, a reinforcement of the teams as well as a reconceptualization of his website.
