CFDA 2023: Catherine Holstein (Khaite) named Womenswear Designer of the Year again

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) held its annual fashion gala in New York on November 6. Catherine Holstein (Khaite) and Willy Chavarria were voted designers 2023 in the fashion category. Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen (The Row) were honored in the accessories category.

The CFDA Awards ceremony, organized by the influential American fashion union of the same name, which represents no fewer than 450 American ready-to-wear and accessories brands, was held on Monday evening at the American Museum of Natural History in New York, location of the film A Night At The Museum starring Ben Stiller (2016). A choice carefully considered by Thom Browne, the new chairman of the committee and Tom Ford’s successor.

Every year since 1981, this event has rewarded the designers and ambassadors of American fashion.

Among the winners, two were awarded the Innovation Prize by &a.

A list that nevertheless bears witness to the crisis of novelty and freshness facing the US fashion industry.
