From January 6 to 9, 2026, the world’s leading technology innovation event, CES, will be held in Las Vegas. A regular participant in the event, L’Oréal Group has won two Innovation Awards for its groundbreaking use of infrared light, a technology that enhances the performance of its hair and skin care products.
Every year, professionals and enthusiasts of technology and innovation gather in Las Vegas to attend the Consumer Electronics Show, better known as CES. The highly publicized event attracts an average of 4,500 exhibitors from 160 different countries and more than 140,000 visitors.
A regular at this international trade show (since 2017), L’Oréal Group saw two of its innovations, intended for home use, Light Straight + Multi-styler and LED Face Mask, win awards this year, consolidating its leadership in Beauty Tech solutions. While one is related to hair care and the other to skin care, both benefit from scientific advances in LED technology.
These two innovations are also part of the global beauty leader’s commitment, for 116 years, to delivering “unique beauty experiences that are more effective and better suited to the needs of each and every individual,” emphasizes Barbara Lavernos, Executive Vice President in charge of Research, Innovation, and Technology at L’Oréal Group.
A hair straightener that is three times more effective
For its Light Straight + Multi-styler hair straightener, L’Oréal first chose to address a major concern among consumers. A 2024 study conducted by the global beauty leader among American consumers revealed that 58% of those surveyed blamed the heat of their straighteners for damaging their hair.
