For the 9th edition of the biannual artistic rendez-vous équinoxes, Camille Fournet, the luxury leather goods house, has teamed up with ORLAN, an international artist and feminist to the end of her lashes. The capsule collection, as well as a brand-new ORLANOIDE, can be discovered at the Paris flagship at 5, rue Cambon (Paris 1er).
The Camille Fournet x ORLAN collection invites the artist to reflect on the sociological status of the body in contemporary society.
In keeping with her work, the artist has donated certain anatomical elements of her body to create a singular, carnal collection, half-naturalist, half-surrealist.
A body put to the test of time
The équinoxes program returns every September 21 and March 21. It’s a vibrant encounter between the Maison Camille Fournet and an artist. The result is an exchange of worlds, a space of unrestrained artistic freedom, inspired by the codes of the leather goods House.
This season, Camille Fournet invites ORLAN.
Always in capital letters, ORLAN is a pioneer of the feminist movement of the 1970s and is not bound by any material, technology or artistic practice.
Internationally recognized, ORLAN exhibits her work in the world’s leading museums, including the Centre Pompidou in Paris, MOMA in New York, LACMA and MOCA in Los Angeles, M HKA in Antwerp and MAMBO in Bogotá.
She uses sculpture, photography, performance, video, 3D, video games, augmented reality, artificial intelligence and robotics, as well as scientific and medical techniques such as surgery and biotechnology, to critically interrogate the social phenomena of our time.
“It’s great that these leather elements are fragments of my body that could be worn by other bodies” is how the multi-disciplinary artist presents this Camille Fournet x ORLAN capsule collection entitled “De Corps en Corps” (from body to bodies).
ORLAN never hesitates to transform her body, the common thread running through her work.
