The House of Prada is about to appoint Andrea Guerra to a key position in its management team. This is while waiting to hand over the reins to a member of the founding family, Lorenzo Bertelli, the son of the directors, Miuccia Prada and Patrizio Bertelli.
Andrea Guerra, an advisor to LVMH since 2020 and former managing director of Luxottica, will soon join the Italian group Prada as CEO, according to information from the Italian newspaper la Repubblica. He will continue to act as “consultant in strategy and management development,” however, Lvmh announced.
Mr. Guerra is expected to take up his position in January, following approval by Prada’s board of directors, according to the same Italian source.
“We believe Guerra will bring invaluable experience to Prada’s management team,” said U.S. investment bank Jefferies, adding that investors would likely welcome the arrival in the context of the succession.
This strategic decision was taken by Miuccia Prada and Patrizio Bertelli, respectively CEO, managing director and main shareholders of the House, in order to facilitate a family succession. Mr. Bertelli announced his intention to hand over the reins of the group, within three years, to his son Lorenzo, currently marketing director.
