The annual Black Friday, initially scheduled for November 27th before being postponed for several days due to the health crisis, will begin on December 4th. However, it is already possible to take advantage of some offers as many online stores have already taken the lead and are offering the first promotions until next week.
Merchants had asked to reopen on November 27th for Black Friday so as not to disadvantage stores offering only physical sales to the detriment of online stores. Matignon had finally decided to postpone the overall week of Black Friday.
“Today, like other retailers in France, listening to the government’s recommendations, we decided to postpone the date of Black Friday if it allows shops and physical stores to reopen before December 1,” commented Frédéric Duval, general manager of Amazon France, on TF1’s 20 heures.
Black Friday, this commercial event coming straight from the United States, usually takes place on the last Friday of November, the day after the American national holiday Thanksgiving. After rumors circulating about the cancellation of Black Friday, and Bruno Lemaire assuming that it is not reasonable to maintain the promotional operation, the government decided to maintain the event, essential for many businesses, which hope to be able to get back up the door thanks to the sales generated by the event. Indeed, the event had generated 6 billion euros in sales in 2019, including 5 billion in physical shops, according to Bercy.
For this most singular year, the event was postponed by one week in France, mainly because of the national confinement that forces stores to close their doors. However, some luxury brands have already entered the dance, and are already offering their first promotional offers.
The famous luxury retailer Farfetch has already launched its Black Friday week and its catalog is full of tempting offers. These include the Knife boots from Balenciaga at 50% off, the Star Bulla 55 mules from Nodaleto at 60% off, and the pink cross-buttoned blazer from Balmain at 50% off. All of which is enough to offer the products of the biggest luxury brands at the lowest prices.
The Nordstrom retailer already offers a wide range of promotional offers, with an extensive promotional catalog, from clothing to cosmetics and perfumery. Nordstrom also has a very wide range of luxury brands, with houses such as Guerlain, Marc Jacobs, or even Gucci.
The reference in luxury natural skincare, Tata Harper, does not offer product promotions, but the brand offers a 25% discount on the entire site, without the need for a coupon code. The perfect opportunity to take care of your skin this season, all available on Tata Harper‘s online store.
Net-à-Porter‘s online catalog is already sporting its first promotional offers on a wide selection of products, all categories combined. Delivery is free for all orders until Monday, and promotions go up to -50 % on major ready-to-wear brands. Go to the Net-à-Porter website to take advantage of these offers.
For even more fashion and leather goods promotions, the luxury goods retailer Ssense has prepared a selection of promotions on products from the biggest houses such as Burberry, Versace, or Maison Margiela. The offers go up to – 50 %, and the site also offers a wide catalog of men’s fashion.
