Best Global Brands 2021: Mercedes-Benz reinforces its position as the number one automotive brand

Mercedes climbs to No. 8 in the latest Interbrand rankings as the world’s most powerful luxury car brand, ahead of BMW and Tesla.

 

The American brand consulting firm Interbrand has just revealed its famous annual ranking of the most powerful brands: “Best Global Brands 2021“. Mercedes is ranked 8th, just behind Toyota, and ahead of BMW and Tesla.

 

The value of the brand has increased by 3% since 2020 to reach some 50.866 billion dollars. This is the sixth year in a row that the brand has been in the top 10 of the ranking, making it the most powerful luxury car brand in the world.

 

Mercedes-Benz is preparing to go fully electric before the end of the decade, as soon as market conditions allow. The goal is clear: to become the market leader in electric.

 

We are moving from the traditional concept of luxury to a modern interpretation that emphasizes aspects such as accessibility, innovation and individuality. This means that we focus on our customers and their needs. Our goal is to strengthen the long-term emotional connection with our brands by creating a holistic luxury experience at all touchpoints of the customer journey, from social media to physical experiences,” says Rita Felder, director of brand strategy and marketing for Mercedes-Benz at Interbrand.

 

At the same time, Mercedes Benz is unveiling its all-new AMG-SL model live on social media. This all-new roadster is the reinvention of an icon and returns to its roots with its sporty character. It combines the sportiness of the original SL with today’s technological assets and a unique luxury, popre to the German brand.
