Basketball player Giánnis Antetokoúnmpo becomes the new face of Breitling

The Breitling watch company has just afforded the services of Milwaukee Bucks NBA player Giánnis Antetokoúnmpo as its new ambassador.

Nicknamed “Greek Freak” in reference to his athletic abilities, the rising basketball star joins other celebrities including actors Brad Pitt, Charlize Theron and Adam Driver, ballet dancer Misty Copeland and surfer Kelly Slater as a member of the Breitling Squad. Each brings their own unique personality and style to their work with the luxury watch brand, Breitling.

“Giannis’ drive, dedication, unwavering vision and desire to give make him an inspiration,” says Breitling CEO Georges Kern.

Giánnis Antetokoúnmpo was chosen because of his story and his incredible journey. Indeed, Giánnis Antetokoúnmpo grew up in a disadvantaged area of the Greek capital and was undocumented until he was 15 years old, which did not prevent him from succeeding. Today, he is one of the greatest players in the NBA, proving that anything is possible if you believe in yourself and your dreams.

“Moreover, he’s just one of the coolest, most down-to-earth guys you’ll ever meet. When we recruit a team member, it’s not just because he’s the best at what he does, it’s because he brings character and integrity to everything he does,” adds the CEO of the Swiss brand.
