Following the release of its Gray Label Bourbon in September, Barrell Craft Spirits, a Kentucky-based luxury spirits company, has announced the launch of its new BCS Grey Label Whisky product, expanding its spirits offering.

Barrell Craft Spirits’ new Grey Label Whisky features 24-year-old Canadian whisky casks, some of which have been finished in Oloroso Sherry and Armagnac casks.

The official distillers’ notes indicate that the whisky is mature and spicy. Those who have tasted it describe it : “In the foreground, reminiscent of wheat fields fringed with wildflowers, there is a concentration of rare and remarkable aromas, enriched by a sweetness and leafy earthiness from the finishing casks, similar to a toasted Belgian waffle.”

Over the past two years, the Barrell Crafts Spirits team has been experimenting with extended secondary maturation on both the group’s core portfolio, as well as a number of newly acquired barrels. They say this process requires a lot of time, experimentation and development.

Essentially, BCS Grey Label Whiskey is a limited edition luxury bottling that reflects the overall investment in time, development and ingredients required for these blends,” commented Joe Beatrice, founder of Barrell Craft Spirits.

Founded in 2013 in Louisville, Kentucky, Barrell Craft Spirits selects and blends products that explore different distillation methods, barrels and aging environments, and bottles them at cask strength. BCS’s high quality cask stocks allow it to create blends that maximise the nuances of each ingredient.

BCS Grey Label Whisky also includes a gift box, and is now available for $249.99 at select retailers.
