Rochas has just appointed Alessandro Vigilante as its artistic director, a few months after announcing the departure of its artistic director Charles de Vilmorin in April 2023. This is an important step in the reorganization of its Fashion business initiated last July by Interparfums, owner of Rochas since 2015.
The appointment of Alessandro Vigilante as Rochas’ new creative director for ready-to-wear marks a new era for the French fashion house known for its elegant, sensual and carefree looks.
A multi-faceted creative spirit
Alessandro Vigilante’s background is as rich as it is surprising. Starting out as a contemporary dancer, he turned to the world of fashion at the age of 23, joining Milan’s IED Moda Lab. Alessandro Vigilante is not only a multi-talented designer, he’s also passionate about art, cinema and photography.
This Italian designer, with a rich history in the fashion world, will bring to Rochas a wealth of experience acquired with renowned brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci and Philosophy by Lorenzo Serafini. His background in the fashion industry promises a new direction for the House.
A new chapter for Rochas
He will aim to bring “modernity to the charismatic, sophisticated and timeless beauty that has long been part of the brand’s DNA, since its creation by Marcel Rochas in 1925“, according to a Maison press release. The appointment of Alessandro Vigilante, welcomed by Philippe Bénaçin, CEO of Interparfums, is part of Rochas’ global repositioning strategy, now entirely managed by Interparfums.
