Accor continues its remarkable expansion in 2023. After launching the Handwritten Collection in January, the hospitality giant is strengthening its presence in France with new openings and ambitious renovation projects.

The year 2023 marks a significant milestone in the expansion of the hotel group Accor. Launched in January of this year, the Handwritten Collection has quickly emerged as a key player in the boutique brand sector.

In just six months since its launch, the Handwritten Collection has captured the attention of both customers and hotel owners. It meets the growing demand from travelers seeking more personalized, authentic, and local experiences. Furthermore, it provides independent and charming hotel owners with the opportunity to enhance their global visibility while preserving their unique identity.

Camil Yazbeck, Global Development Director at Accor, emphasizes, “Independent hotels are increasingly seeking the strength of Accor’s powerful sales, distribution, and loyalty platform to increase their revenues and optimize their costs while maintaining their distinctive personality and unique experience. The Handwritten Collection offers a flexible and cost-effective franchise model.”

Growing Handwritten Collection

Currently, eight hotels are welcoming guests as part of Handwritten, but this ambitious collection aims to have over 250 hotels worldwide by 2030. Accor already has more than 150 properties in discussions to join the collection, which prioritizes the conversion of existing buildings rather than the construction of new ones. This approach allows for a smoother transition, a faster ramp-up process, and more sustainable growth.

Among the hotels already open, here are some of the highlights:

Morris Sydney Hotel – Handwritten Collection: Located in the heart of Sydney, this hotel blends Italian and local heritage to offer a personalized experience in a lavish setting, combining elegant local architecture with Art Deco details.

Hotel & Spa Saint Gervais – Handwritten Collection: Nestled in the French Alps and adorned with Ottoman touches, this establishment offers an elegant year-round experience with magnificent mountain views, spa facilities, and a cocktail bar.

Les Capitouls Hotel Toulouse Centre – Handwritten Collection: Located in Toulouse, this renovated hotel offers English-inspired decor in an elegant townhouse setting, with spacious meeting rooms and a glass-roofed bar serving regional cuisine.

Relais San Martino Salento – Handwritten Collection: This fully renovated establishment in a 17th-century residence provides a relaxed atmosphere, ethical cuisine in a centuries-old orange grove, customizable wellness services, and access to a private beach.
