This Thursday, July 8, Fendi and Sacai presented their collections for the Haute-Couture Fall-Winter 2021-2022 shows.

On the side of Fendi, the colors are soft with marbled patterns. For this collection, the designer Kim Jones said he was inspired by representations of Rome by Pier Paolo Pasolini, Italian director. It is through a video of ten minutes directed by the Italian director Luca Guadagnino that the Fendi collection was unveiled.

For this fashion show inspired by the city of Rome, the models parade in satin dresses with marbled prints, embroidered dresses or with jackets with mosaic patterns. More original, some of them wear transparent dresses without straps, short dresses in lace or printed coats and pants decorated with tassels. We find among the models Kate Moss and her daughter Lila Grace.

Pasolini watched Rome become modern – and that’s what interests me: connecting the times, the old with the new, the past with the present,” explained Kim Jones in a statement, “Rome is a fascinating city because it has so many pasts.”

In terms of colors, no madness: the British designer remained in neutral colors. We find a lot of white in this collection, as well as shades of brown, as well as cream.

Sacai revisits Jean-Paul Gaultier

Jean-Paul Gaultier invited the founder of the Japanese label Sacai, Chitose Abe, to reinterpret the codes of the house in his own way. The designer is known for her collaborations with Nike, and her models of shoes that everyone wants.

For this show, Chitose Abe honors her reputation with unstructured and experimental styles. She drew from the archives of Jean-Paul Gaultier to create this haute couture collection “Gaultier Paris by Sacai“.

A collaboration that gives a sailor dress with holes decorated with tulle, or bodysuits printed tattoos, in tribute to the famous collection “Les tatouages” spring-summer 1994 of the French designer.

The Japanese woman works with materials and cuts in her own way: oversize, jeans, suits reinvented as dresses or down jackets. Through this collaboration, Chitose Abe imposes her label. Some models even wear pairs of Nike x Sacai Vaporwaffle.

This collaboration is the first of a long series, since on the occasion of his 50 years career, Jean-Paul Gaultier had announced the arrival of this new concept. He will invite for each season a different designer to revisit the codes of the house.
