On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the creation of the famous Chanel N°5 perfume, Éditions de la Martinière is unveiling a two-volume collector’s book for the holidays. The author of this book is none other than the writer and novelist, Pauline Dreyfus.
Two volumes make up this book in honor of N°5 : the first is reserved for the creation of the mythical Chanel N°5 perfume and the second volume explains its international fame from 1945 to the present day. This book retraces each milestone that has made Chanel N°5 a reference in perfumery today.
This book reveals all the secrets of Chanel N°5 as it retraces facts and includes unpublished documents. It also recounts the advertising campaigns carried out by the greatest photographers and filmmakers, as well as the ambassadors that Chanel N°5 has known over the centuries, Gabrielle Chanel herself, Catherine Deneuve, Lily-Rose Depp and Marion Cotillard to celebrate its 100th anniversary.
Writer and novelist, Pauline Dreyfus was awarded ” Des Deux Magots” Prize in 2013 for her work “Immortel, enfin”, a book dedicated to Paul Morand’s fifth candidacy for the Académie française. She also received the Albert-Cohen Memory Prize in 2015 for her novel “Ce sont des choses qui arrivent” and more recently won the Goncourt Prize for Biography 2021 with Paul Morand.
Chanel N°5 will only be available in bookshops from November 10th. The value of this collector’s book is 150 euros. It is the perfect gift for fans of this perfume that continues to stand the test of time.
