The American fashion group has begun to feel the impact of the phase-out of Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, the two brands under the PVH group. The strategy of ramping up its own brands (DKNY, Donna Karan, Karl Lagerfeld, Vilebrequin…) and new licenses (Champion Outerwear, Halston, Nautica…) was not enough to offset the shortfall in sales and profits.
It’s no surprise, but it still hurts…
G-III Apparel is paying a heavy price for the termination of its Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger licenses, owned by the PVH Corp group. Even though this is being done gradually, with a phase-out schedule spanning from 2024 to 2027, its impact is already being strongly felt in the 2025 results, which closed on January 31.
