L’Oréal demands reimbursement of Trump’s tariffs

Along with Revlon and EssilorLuxottica, among others, L’Oréal is one of many companies that have already filed lawsuits seeking reimbursement of Trump’s tariffs, which have just been invalidated by the US Supreme Court. However, the legal battle is likely to be a long one…

 

“I want my money back!” More and more companies exporting to the United States are echoing this phrase uttered in the late 1970s by Margaret Thatcher, the British Prime Minister who was then targeting the European Community.

 

With the Supreme Court having just invalidated, on February 20, the majority of the US tariffs imposed by Donald Trump, French cosmetics group L’Oréal has joined British vacuum cleaner manufacturer Dyson and contact lens specialist Bausch + Lomb in filing lawsuits and seeking reimbursement of these taxes.

 

Far from being the first

 

The Reuters news agency has just revealed the information, based on court documents it has been able to consult.
