Lamborghini has announced that it is suspending its plans to launch a 100% electric model, citing insufficient demand in the luxury segment and a desire to remain faithful to its customers’ expectations.

 

Although Lamborghini‘s hybrid strategy has been prolific over the past year, the manufacturer has taken everyone by surprise by suspending its future 100% electric car in favor of this strategy.

 

This decision, revealed by CEO Stephan Winkelmann in an interview with The Sunday Times, marks a turning point in Lamborghini’s energy transition, in the face of what it considers to be virtually non-existent demand from its high-end customers.

 

The electric Lanzador abandoned in favor of a hybrid

 

Lamborghini had attracted attention in 2023 with the presentation of the Lanzador concept, announced as its first all-electric supercar. But after months of reflection and internal discussions with its customers and distributors, the manufacturer finally decided to abandon the project.
