For the first time in charge of the famous auction at the Rétromobile show, Gooding Christie’s presented 83 lots that made a lasting impression at the 2026 edition, setting numerous records.
This year’s auction at the 2026 Retromobile show was organized by Gooding Christie’s, which has become an official partner of the show under a multi-year agreement.
Held at the Porte de Versailles to mark the show’s 50th anniversary, the auction brought together collectors from around the world to view a selection of rare vehicles ranging from pre-war models to contemporary supercars.
At the end of the auction, total sales reached just over €50 million, with nearly four out of five lots sold.
Ferrari in the spotlight
As is often the case in prestigious sales, Ferrari dominated the auction. The star of the show was a 1984 Ferrari 288 GTO, which sold for over €9 million, setting a new record for this model. Its low mileage, remarkable condition, and long history of family ownership contributed greatly to this result.
