On February 1 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, the wine and spirits industry will once again be buzzing with excitement as it celebrates the 68th Grammy Awards. The event, which each year honors the most prominent figures in the American music industry, has chosen Patrón as its official tequila supplier for the first time.
While LVMH’s superstar champagne, Moët & Chandon, has confirmed its position as the official champagne of the Golden Globes (since 1992), the 68th Grammy Awards marks the coronation of a brand from the spirits specialist group, Bacardi.
Two years before the 70th anniversary of the prestigious ceremony organized by the Recording Academy, Patrón has become its first tequila supplier, reflecting the growing popularity of the famous Mexican drink.
Better still, Patrón is becoming the exclusive tequila partner for all of the Recording Academy’s VIP events and activations, particularly those related to the Grammy Awards.
Golden Record cocktail
“From the red carpet to behind the scenes, to viewers around the world, we are delighted to toast with the Golden Record to mark the beginning of this exciting new partnership,” said Adam Roth, Executive Vice President of Global Partnerships and Business Development for the Recording Academy.
A true tribute to the artistic talent championed since 1958 by the Recording Academy, the Golden Record cocktail was developed in collaboration with Daniel Gonzalez, award-winning mixologist at the famous Licorería Limantour in Mexico City.
With its golden color, the cocktail showcases tequila produced in small quantities at Hacienda Patrón, in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. The Patrón El Alto cuvée is used for this creation, a rare blend of Extra Añejo, Añejo, and Reposado tequilas. The cocktail is an unusual and refreshing combination of tequila with prosecco, sherry, and pear syrup, all enhanced with a touch of bergamot.
At the end of 2025, Patrón underwent a luxury upgrade, revamping the visual identity of the bottles in its main range, namely: Silver, Reposado, Añejo, and Extra Añejo.
