Interparfums, owner of Maison Rochas since 2015, has decided to discontinue the fashion collections that the London-based French group had been managing directly since 2023. The perfume business, however, will continue.
This is sad news for fashionistas ahead of Paris Fashion Week.
Interparfums has decided to discontinue the fashion business of Rochas, a fashion house historically linked to haute couture and fashion since its founding by couturier Marcel Rochas in 1925.
The Fall/Winter 2025 women’s collection will therefore be the last from the fashion house, owned by the French group Interparfums.
Although the fashion business had experienced an initial interruption with the death of its founder, it reappeared in 1989 under the direction of Peter O’Brien, then in charge of the women’s, men’s, accessories, and perfume collections. The men’s collections had declined in 2020.
Refocusing on perfume
Specializing in perfume licenses, Interparfums has therefore decided to abandon the ready-to-wear line.
The French group, which until now had Rochas as the only fashion brand in its portfolio, intends to “focus exclusively on its core business: the development and distribution of prestige perfumes and cosmetics.”
