Why has Dior appointed Michela Kalb as head of Haute Couture, women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, women’s shoes, and babywear?

Already with the LVMH group since 2006, first as director of women’s ready-to-wear at Dior and since 2017 at Louis Vuitton, Michela Kalb will support Jonathan Anderson, who has been in charge of creating the brand’s global universe since this spring.

 

Two heads are better than one…

 

After deciding this spring to appoint Jonathan Anderson (formerly of Loewe) to oversee all of its men’s and women’s designs (ready-to-wear and haute couture), replacing Kim Jones and Maria Grazia Chiuri respectively, Christian Dior ultimately decided to find him a right-hand woman.

 

An expert on Dior and LVMH

 

Michela Kalb, an expert on the iconic LVMH group brand, has been appointed director of Haute Couture, women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, women’s shoes, and baby collections. The importance of her role is underscored by her inclusion on the Dior management committee.
