Van Cleef & Arpels creates a new initiative “From Hands to Hands”, under the sign of transmission

From December 11 to 17, the artisans of the Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry house and the professors of the School of Jewelry Arts will be in Lyon for a while to discover what goes on behind the scenes in this multi-faceted industry.
The event “De Mains en mains par Van Cleef & Arpels” has chosen the city of Lyon as the place to set up shop and reveal all the secrets of the jewellery trade. This public event aims to inspire the younger generation and to interest them in this sector.
On the program for this week of events: transmission of know-how with a series of fun and interactive jewelry conferences, led by gemologists and historians from the School of Jewelry Arts. Creative workshops for the youngest, with the intention of making them discover the trades which gravitate around the jewelry.
Meetings with the city’s secondary school students will be organized with the aim of exchanging with Van Cleef & Arpels craftsmen, about their career and their professions such as setter, polisher or CAD designer. Several jewelry schools will present to schoolchildren the various training courses dedicated to these traditional skills.
The city’s students will also be able to try their hand at a few practices such as setting or polishing a jewellery creation.
This week is organized with the help of Van Cleef & Arpels’ partner workshops, the School of Jewelry Arts, the French National Education System, several jewelry training schools, including the Haute École de Joaillerie, and various associations.
The event “De Mains en mains par Van Cleef & Arpels” will take place from December 11 to 17, 2021, with registration at the InterContinental Lyon.
