Ritz Carlton, Riyadh shines at Hotelier Middle East Awards

The Riyadh Ritz-Carlton was named “Hotel Team of the Year” at the annual Middle East Hotel Awards ceremony, held in Dubai on October 24 at the Meridien Dubai Hotel.

“I am very humble and honored to be recognized by the Hotelier Middle East Awards. This would not be possible without the unwavering support, hard work and undeniable perseverance of our employees who have supported us throughout our journey as a team,” said Gerrit Graef, General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton in Riyadh.

At the same time, Ritz-Carlton, as a luxury hotel chain, controlling 59 hotels located in the world’s major cities and tourist destinations in 20 countries, has been named the world’s most luxurious hotel brand.

According to a recent study by Kadence International, the luxury hotel chain is the best, ahead of the Four Seasons, Shangri-La and Intercontinental.

The study was conducted on a sample of 5775 consumers in 13 markets.

It revealed that, overall, the brand’s heritage and quality are raising their “luxury” index.

 

Balmain is returning to Haute-Couture

Balmain is back on Haute-Couture fashion shows after 16 years of absence.

Indeed, Olivier Rousteing, the brand’s artistic director, announced the news at the Apparel & Retail Summit, organized by Women’s Wear Daily (WWD).

The brand will integrate the Haute Couture calendar from next January, for Fashion Week.

At the summit, Olivier Roustaing also announced that he wanted to focus on accessories, perfumes and cosmetics, which would give the brand’s teams work.

 

 

Gault & Millau named Micheli Sandro best pastry chef of the year

The pastry chef of the year, crowned by the Gault & Millau 2018, is none other than Micheli Sandro, orchestrating at the Louis XV in Monte Carlo. Born in Belfort in 1976, Sandro Micheli has had a rich and various career. In 2013, he joined Alain Ducasse’s majestic three-star restaurant: the Louis XV at the Hôtel de Paris. There, he offers three-star delicacies with just a bit of sugar, a clear taste and an ethic of a great product and its accompaniment.

The renowned guide Gault & Millau sends a mystery shopper who tastes the dishes but also notes the atmosphere and the kindness of the service.

It is also the chef of the year, Alexandre Mazzia for AM in Marseille, an eponymous restaurant with 24 seats, who will soon make a name for himself among the greats.

Pharell Williams signs a capsule collection for Chanel

Pharell Williams continues to collaborate with Chanel. After a short film, an original music or an advertising campaign, the famous singer signs a capsule collection for the brand. It will consist of ready-to-wear pieces and accessories for the Spring/Summer 2019 season.

For many years, Pharell Williams has had a strong bond with Chanel and this collection is nothing less than the logical continuation of their mutual affection.

The collection will be unveiled at the opening of a Chanel flagship in Seoul on March 29, 2019, but it will take until April 4 to obtain the fruit of this collaboration in a selection of Chanel boutiques around the world.

 

Jared Leto becomes Gucci’s muse for the launch of a new fragrance

Lana del Rey and Jared Leto will be the new faces of the new women’s perfume created by Gucci: Gucci Guilty.

More than just being the muses of perfumes, they will be actors in a television commercial and will be shot for a press campaign in 2019.

The two Los Angeles musicians, known for their glamour and sense of style, will embody the perfume for its worldwide release in January 2019.
