Having just unveiled a good first half of 2024-2025, the American fashion group, which also owns the Coach and Kate Spade brands, has announced the sale of its Stuart Weitzman footwear brand to its compatriot Caleres.
After the failure, at the end of 2024, of their merger, thwarted by the American competition authorities, the Tapestry and Capri groups are looking to downsize in order to move forward.
However, the sale of the former’s Stuart Weitzman brand and that of Versace by Capri, potentially to the Prada group, has not yet been confirmed.
Tapestry (Coach, Kate Spade, Stuart Weitzman) was the first to draw.
The New York-based group has just entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Stuart Weitzman footwear brand to Caleres, itself an American specialist in this accessory.
$105 million
The transaction, which is expected to be finalized in the summer of 2025, subject to customary closing conditions, will earn the seller $105 million.
