Richemont has notified the Fribourg Economic Development Agency of this change, according to a report by La Télé, relayed by La Liberté and confirmed to Keystone-ATS. “As part of the communication process, the company informed us on Friday of the relocation measure,” explained Jerry Krattiger, director of the Economic Development Department, in the daily newspaper’s columns on Tuesday.

“The relocation of one of the group’s activities in Switzerland involves about 60 people,” said Jerry Krattiger. According to him, the situation is not too damaging for the Fribourg region. “In view of the distances involved, the change of site will only have a relative impact on the employees.”

A development that in no way calls into question the presence of Richemont in Villars-sur-Glâne. The site, which is currently being driven by the development of a large-scale campus, employs 1200 people, recalls Jerry Krattiger. The luxury group, active in particular in watchmaking, also intends to invest further in what is its international distribution centre.
