The second-hand platform, originally from Lithuania, has just published its latest list of the luxury brands most sold through it: Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Gucci. A podium that differs from that of the quarterly Lyst Index, listing the most popular brands in Internet searches, with Miu-Miu, Saint Laurent and Prada at the top. A difference that can be explained by the customers’ different motivations.
“A second-hand luxury product is a luxury product like any other,” said Adam Jay, CEO of the Lithuanian second-hand sales platform Vinted, during a speech in Paris at the end of 2023.
But consumers don’t seem to agree with him.
Two popularity barometers
The recent, almost simultaneous publication of two popularity barometers for luxury brands, Lyst first and Vinted second, is a striking demonstration of this.
