Saint Laurent has just inaugurated its very first bookshop. Located at 9 rue de Grenelle, the space in the heart of Paris is a hybrid, somewhere between bookshop, gallery and record store.
Saint Laurent is contributing to the cultural uplift underway in the luxury sector, particularly since Pharrell Williams’ shock pop show for Louis Vuitton Homme in 2023.
With its Saint Laurent Babylone boutique, the Parisian fashion house is offering a new kind of immersive experience – this time cultural – at 9 rue de Grenelle, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris.
By refurbishing one of its seven Paris boutiques, Saint Laurent is showcasing its new areas of expression: publishing, music production and cinema. These areas were strengthened in 2023 with the creation of its own production studio and the acquisition of Hollywood’s largest talent agency (CAA).
Babylon, at the crossroads of cultures
This former ready-to-wear and accessories boutique has been rehabilitated to become “a new cultural destination and bookshop in the heart of Paris, dedicated to art, culture and new modes of expression”.
Soberly titled Saint Laurent Babylone, the name of this boutique located between rue de Grenelle and rue des Saint Pères pays homage to the street that housed the late founder Yves Saint Laurent and his companion and business partner, Pierre Bergé.
