RE-Luxury is the first trade fair dedicated to the Re-Commerce of luxury and collectible objects, but also to initiatives in the field of the circular economy. Organized from 4 to 7 November 2022 at the Hotel Président Wilson in Geneva, this event will welcome some thirty Swiss and international participants. It is open to the public and to professionals.
The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) reveals that more second-hand watches are now sold worldwide than new watches ! The second-hand market in luxury goods has been growing and exploding in recent years. A trend adopted in particular by the younger generations: “70% of female luxury buyers make their first luxury purchase via a vintage product.”
“The resale market in luxury is set to last and grow; it completely changes the notion of “consumption” into “investment”; and investments that, over time, often have a value greater than the initial purchase price”, says Fabienne Lupo, who initiated the new event.
RE-Luxury offers participants the opportunity to find and acquire pieces, all authenticated and certified by the Houses, platforms and retailers present at the event. Visitors will also be able to bring their pieces, have them evaluated by experts and also sell them to the same players, who are looking for pieces to buy and resell.
The event will feature watches, jewellery, fashion, leather goods and luxury accessories.
Participants in the event will include leading online retailer eBay, RE-Luxury‘s main partner, as well as WatchBox, Richard Mille and the Orygin Foundation.
Beyond the commercial aspect, RE-Luxury will highlight the Artisans of restoration and repair, as well as start-ups and new actors of the circular economy in luxury.
Thanks to the speakers invited to speak, visitors will be able to exchange and meet collectors, experts, but also learn and discover the new trends of the circular economy in luxury: Re-Commerce, Up-cycling, Re-cycling, Sourcing, Blockchain, NFT and many others.
